According to sources from GUGOBET and Board of Control for Cricket in India, 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches will be played in India without an audience (BCCI).

"The IPL 2022 will take place in India without a crowd. Wankhede Stadium, Cricket Club of India (CCI), and DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai and Pune, if necessary," said the source. This comes as the BCCI and IPL betting team owners prepare for a virtual meeting on Saturday to discuss potential standby places for the cricket sports league's upcoming season. "Owners have been invited to the meeting, which will be held virtually," a team official was cited by news agency PTI as saying. After the event was suspended in India due to the second wave of Covid-19, the second half of the 2021 edition was held across the Emirates. The IPL betting is usually held in April or May.

"If each franchise has a maximum of 25 players in their squad, 217 players will be taken in the auction (up to 70 of whom may be overseas players)," the IPL said in a statement. The two new teams in the Indian Premier League, Ahmedabad and Lucknow, have also announced their draft picks ahead of the upcoming mega auction for the 2022 season. Hardik Pandya (15 crore), Rashid Khan (15 crore), and Shubman Gill (8 crore) have been chosen by Ahmedabad.
